For the information of everybody, our increase in salary is still subject for the approval of Pres Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
As of this time it is not yet approved hence the amount representing our supposed differential on December 29, 2009 was not charged as expenses of the bank on salaries and wages.
Madam Pico committed during her SOBA to give the differential by year-end. True to her word, we were given such despite the fact that there was no approval from Malacanang yet. To avoid any problem with COA, the Provident Fund was used to advance our differential pending Malacanang approval.
In fairness, our management has been generous as compared in the past years. LBPEA has recognized the management's effort to provide all the benefits we deserve.
The LBPEA was blamed for its inaction on the issue of salary increase. Please know that LBPEA had several meetings with the management to tackle the issue on salary increase but data and figures cannot be divulged until approved. We are at the mercy of Malacanang hence the possibility of disapproval is not remote.
For the detractors of LBPEA, sorry we cannot please you all. But one thing is sure, LBPEA has been true to its mandate of working for the welfare of the employees. Let us pause for a while and reflect on all the windfall benefits received these past two years. There is no need to enumerate them for you but just to remind you..they were made possible through the efforts of LBPEA.
We do not ask for your commendation but we only ask for a little consideration.
